We are for our elders. And we’re for the people who care.

Our history

Eevi started in the independent living space, with simple medical alarms and professional off-site monitoring.   Early on, we undertook Australiaโ€™s most comprehensive design sprint process into technology in independent living, with over 1500 datapoints drawn from over 250 hours of resident interviews.  Themes emerged around Help, Health and Community.   This led to the launch of Australiaโ€™s first voice-activated alarm response โ€œGet Eeviโ€, a voice activated daily โ€œCheck Me-Inโ€ service, the launch of wearables such as the Eevi Watch, and experimenting with Tech Angels to assist residents with complexity.

Clients led us increasingly into the care business. First, with Aveo, in their award-winning flagship-community Aveo Newstead. Aveo Newstead offered a truly integrated retirement community, with independent living, assisted living and full service aged care all within the same multi-dwelling units. And easily access to shopping, cafes, restaurants and services on the ground floor and surrounding development.

Then, with LDK Healthcare, Australiaโ€™s leading private aged care provider.  When we first met them, the Chairman Paul Brown told us โ€œCare systems are a main issue we struggle to nail.  We are not just a residential aged care provider, nor just a home care operator, nor just a retirement village. There is no right system available to us.โ€   So we set out solving this problem. Again, we undertook 2 design processes with 2 operators, one in Australia and one in New Zealand.   The themes and principles that emerged are set out in โ€œOur Servicesโ€ below.  And they hold today, as much as they did when we embarked on this journey, and continue to guide our investment, innovation and operation.

Our Principles

Today, Eevi represents the only platform in Australia built from the ground up to solve the needs of Private Aged Care.   These are operators offering to care for residents, in place in their communities, as they age and their care needs change. From independent living, to assisted living, to aged care, to memory loss and palliation.  Throughout, we have held to a few key โ€œmust havesโ€ about the tech we use:

  1. Must feel like a home, not a hospital
  2. Must support any level of care, anywhere in the community
  3. Must deliver useful clinical insights and intelligence, not noisy data
  4. Must support automation care minutes and compliance
  5. Must be more reliable and secure than traditional nurse call

And it turns out, if you build a great system for private aged care, it is also a great system for residential aged care generally and for home care. Eevi is today in Residential Aged Care Facilities, Home Care Providers and Independent Living communities around Australia. A testimony to the value of listening to residents, carers and operators and seeking to solve their pain points and problems.

Our services

Australian-owned & operated, eevi specialises in technologies to support the continuum of care for elderly Australians, wherever they choose to live.
Our research has led us to solve pain points others fail to see or whose legacy systems prevent them from solving:

  • Prevalence of memory loss and making it okay to wander safely
  • Detection of falls, reliably and unobtrusively in real-time
  • Need for the look and feel of a home, not a hospital
  • Recognising residents as having stories of their own
  • Observing changes in residents over time, unobtrusively
  • Make it easy for carers with simple tools and workflows
  • Keep the place quiet and calm by intelligently triaging alarms
  • Get the right person at the right time with intelligent routing
  • Keep staff safe, night and day
  • Families need visibility and engagement in their loved ones’ lives
We believe the best technologies are beautiful and easy to use.
And the best care technologies have the look and feel of a home, not a hospital.
